Holiday Telephone Greeting

Hello,

 

Please be sure to re-record the alternate greeting for your location to reflect the closed days for the Christmas holiday. Here are some basic instructions for the phone:

1. If internal dial 51299, if external dial 832.395.1299.
2. When prompted for ID enter "2580".
3. When prompted for password enter "0852".
4. When prompted for the extension of the call handler, enter the last 5 digits of the branches main phone number (ie 31740)
5. Listen to the prompts. They will let you activate/deactivate/record an alternate greeting.

Suggested phone greeting:

 

1. Thank the caller and follow with the name of the branch/unit and the library system.

 

a. Thank you for calling the Alief Regional Library, part of the Houston Public Library System.

 

2. State that the library will be closed for the named holiday, the dates it will be closed and when it will re-open.

 

a. The library will be closed for the Christmas holidays on Saturday, December 22, 2012 through noon on Wednesday, December 26, 2012. We are using the holiday closure to replace a critical component of our electrical distribution equipment. Our website, catalog and customer accounts will be unavailable during this period. We apologize for the inconvenience.

 

Be sure to repeat the steps above to turn off the greeting once the phones come back up and we re-open on December 26th.
